Deployable Side Steps Motor

My nearside Deployable Side Step is stuck out and I suspected that it was seized, however, on investigation that does not seem the case as the folding brackets move freely. Is there a procedure for removing the drive motor as it looks as if some of the trim must be removed first to gain access. RRS2 HSE Chile Red

Stuck step

Did you ever get to the bottom of the problem as I have the same fault. 2015 RRS DIESEL HYBRID
