No point in a 250 excess???

Will you really want to claim for a small problem??

Ins is really there for the worst case scenario ...... ie you cause major accident or kill someone Shocked - take out a bigger excess - reduce your annual premium - and drive carefully Wink

ps - and never take your car out of the garage Wink

I reinsured last week for around £420 ish - I shopped around a lot all the popular ones and others, ended up with Budget insured by Zurich - that Censored annoying advert for confused.com got me there...

Worth a look... Idea Question
Very Happy

We always used Eagle Star - when we had a group family & business policy = had approx 9 cars on the policy.

Thanks MDP.. have given out Fleet Plan insurance for the guy to have a bash at quoting with. Eagle star hold a special place in my heart, first insurance company to offer me a 19 year old insurance on a 2 litre petrol brand new Bmw at the time, under £1000, was VERY happy with them!

I take it you don't do this anymore?
Any idea how much you used to pay for this level of cover on 9 cars?
I know we once got a quote from someone who was selling door to door at the office, and he quoted something like £4k for 10 cars.. at the time, we needed to keep our NCB's building up, plus didn't have the desire to do this so didn't bother.. but it is good especially if you have young'uns on the policy!

just doing the insurance quote rounds at the moment

RRS HSE 07MY based on 10k / Legal / £200 excess / Private&Business Use / 8 years NCB

Direct Line - £464.10 (requires Tracker fitted)
Budget - £514 (no tracker required)

given my broker a challenge to see if Norwich Union (current insurer) is interested in keeping my business - lets wait and see

I've just renewed my insurance over the last week and looked into this in some detail again. If you want normal insurance, try http://www.masterquote.co.uk and http://www.confused.com

If you want insurance that includes off-road use, then there are only three (that I could find) - LR Insurance, NFU and Adrian Flux. However, you'll pay approx £150-£250 more on a £44K D3 HSE for this cover over a cheaper road-only cover above.

The NFU comes out best if you if want off-road use and they also include new for old for two years. LR Insurance and Adrian Flux do the same for first 12 months, but only if your the first owner on the registration. Most of the cheaper insurers don't offer this now, so you need a separate GAP policy. Matt
-------------------------------------------
RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!
