Hi,

Does anyone know what this remote does? It came with my new 2014 RRS AB. It doesn't look like the OEM remote climate, but having pressed it, it does flash once every 5 seconds.



I'm thinking I've either opened the previous owners garage door or set off some kind of self-destruct sequence!

It looks to me very much like a tracker fob. If the car is stolen and the fob is not in the car then it gets flagged by the tracker provider and they inform the police.

These systems normally have a subscription you pay. If I was you contact previous owner and find out who the company tracker provider is and get it set back up. More safety/security systems the better with these thieves favourite cars. Watching from the Full Fat RR Forum

Or poss garage door or gate opener remtoe fob If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

My garage remote does, to open and close at will rather than just on approach.

If its a tracker FOB then you best ask the previous owners as their must be account/subscription details to enable the tracking,

Does it have any serial numbers or stamps on the back or inside the battery cover?

Maybe its a button like LOST where you just need to keep pressing it at regular intervals! Just keep pressing for all our sakes!  If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

I seem to remember its a "swmbo spending Activation button"

If you press it it alerts swmbo that they have unlimited spending on the basis that "you-ve bought a car so I'm going shopping"

what ever you do Dont be tempted to press it, to see what happens

Sorry, but tracker fobs do have buttons, the Vodaphone Tracker Fobs do anyway.

If the battery has to be replaced you have to push the button to reset the fob and then a light flashes.







This is the “newer” type fob where the button has been improved.

Interesting, thanks. I wonder if they have fitted a tracker. I noticed the bolts to the subwoofer are loose so maybe they put it under there. I will have a look around.

I have Vodafone NavTrak on my F430 and it's incredibly effective. Car is stored securely but it needed to be moved around so the guys started it up without the fob nearby. Vodafone rang me straight away to say the car had been started and was I aware? If
