Side step base fallen off.
Hi I have recently bought a 17 plate rrs. It has some after market side steps fitted.
The base of the step has come loose. It isn’t naturally clipping back in. Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this?
Also If I wanted to remove the steps entirely is this an easy job?
There is also some sticky tape inside which makes me think this isn’t the first time it’s happened but the dealership seem to suggest this is the norm to keep them in place.
Many thanks in advance.

You will probably find that the fixings have corroded away and as a result they will not be able to take hold when you push them back in.
Best bet would be some strong adhesive for a quick fix to get you through as the other options would be drill and tap or rivet.RRS SVR Estoril Blue, Huracan Performante Spyder Rosso Mars, Tesla Model X Black

hi thanks for the reply.
I bought it off someone i know. He only had them put on just over a year ago. the dealership say they were new and that the internal tape is the norm.
Does the fact they are not much older than a year discount the likelihood of corrosion or can this happen very quickly?
Many thanks once again.

The dealership saxtons 4 x 4 have told me the part was a "britpart" which had a 1 year warranty which ran out on the 28th of feb which is frustrating.
Im going to take it to a local range rover specialist tomorrow night to see what he says
