Scotland 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue
New front drive shafts

Folks

I am considering replacing both front drive shafts on my 2007 TDV8 Sport with 134,000 on the clock. A couple of the rubber boots have split and the cost of a garage to replace just the boots, when in addition I think their are issues with the FNS CV joint. And I will also be replacing the rear centre bearing on the rear propshaft as the current one is knackered.

I will have access to a ramp and tame mechanic, so is it a relatively (bearing in mind nothing on them ever is) easy process? Thumbs Up Previously owned 1999 Disco 2 TD5
Disco 3 HSE TDV6 2007
Gone 2007 TDV8 RRS1 in Buckingham Blue.

How do know if the knocking at the front has been sorted?

You can hear the knocking at the rear better

Shafts are easy

Top ball joint off, hub nut off, TRE off, gives enough room to extract the driveshafts Thumbs Up

As for the rear prop, just replace the whole thing. You'll be doing that anyway once the centre CV chucks all its grease out and wears Thumbs Up

DM - went for your advice and changed it to a new propshaft.

Now all I need is for the bloody snow to stop. Previously owned 1999 Disco 2 TD5
