England 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Never ever thought this would cross my mind but.....

Well, been driving 34 years and this has never crossed my mind once until very recently when I realised the steering wheel on my 2011 RRS HSE tdv6. Was quite slippery. Leather a bit smoothed over time, and as you know, it’s not a small diameter sports wheel, and slipped out of my hand on a fast tight left hander. No accident followed so all good, but made me think leather wheel cover or.................DRIVING GLOVES !!!!

So, does anybody wear them at all and if so, how do you handle the stigma ?

That takes me back I always used to get them as Xmas presents after I passed my test😄

I’d try cleaning it with a proper leather cleaner, the one on my 2005 looked really smooth and worn when I got it, thought it might need a retrim but a couple of hours cleaning and the crap that came off it 😬 and the leather was actually in pretty good nick still got the grain in it.

Could never get used to driving with gloves though 🤔 Steve

I’ve given it a little clean, so gonna take your advice and keep cleaning for a good while to get all the oils out. It’s not that worn so fingers crossed.... ungloved fingers of course.... thanks

Purchase a Flash magic sponge - £2.30 for 2 from Tesco and clean the wheel with it and then feed with leather conditioner and it will be like new Thumbs Up
Just done ours at the weekend and the difference is amazing

That’s gonna be one of the cheaper maintenance bills I’m going to have I guess lol. Top tip. Thanks

bloody hell. Just used it on a “clean “ wheel and the amount of crap that came out was unbelievable. Really good stuff
