Poor radio reception

My 06 plate gets a very weak FM radio reception. It's certainly not terrible and although it works it's moderate at the very best. Any thoughts, tests or common faults?

Sorry to ressurect this thread - my 13 plates also pretty pathetic.... worst car radio reception I have had - anyone know a fix?
