Anyone had a remap done on the SDV6?

Celtic tuning offers something and they seem to have a good rep

Any feedback good or bad?

had mine remapped at Durham remaps and dpf removed and delete and stop/start took off on the print out of the dyno its 360 bhp 747Nm well impressed and accelerator a lot more responsive also uses no Adblue now

RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

Had mine done 2 years ago by DMS. Big difference and well worth it. I find it particularly noticeable towards the top end of the Rev range. 50-70mph is the most impressive improvement.

the DPF is still visible they just take the insides out and the test is just a visual at the moment but before I was having 3 mini services because of oil dilution when the car was going into its regen mode, now it doesn't do that cos the DPF is not there and no chance of throwing the crank shaft. I have four friends now who have had this problem and needed new engines, two of them being my fathers and sisters

£550 for remap and deletes took nearly 9 hours to do

I am very interested in getting my dpf removed deleted..got any details.....quite frankly being forced to as coming to 6th oil change in 2 years....

I am all for environment but this Censored poor design is more danaging to environment... extract oil, transport oil, refine oil, make containers for packaging etc, dispose of used oil and filters.

Ideally would go for plug in hybrid but live in terraced house with nonoff street parking so does not work for me..even nearest charging point is several minutes walk from home Wink

Will DPF removal pass the MOT? A DPF results in no smoke from the exhaust. Take out the DPF and you'll get some soot on acceleration. Any smoke will be a give away to the MOT tester and result in a fail. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

mines passed twice and yes it will put out a bit of black smoke when you boot it also the exhaust is a lot louder you can hear it whistling when the turbo spins up and when the flap opens Very Happy

Without a DPF your car is illegal. I understand that it is invisible to the MOT tester as the body of the DPF is still visible, but surprised it’s passing the smoke test.
Also in it’s present state it’s also uninsured.

While on the subject of DPF...anyone had their DPF flash cleaned?.. if so did it make any difference on service intervals?

Essentially DPF burns soot, by product of that is ash..which does not get burned off..it remains in DPF and over time will reduce capacity of the DPF resulting increased regens due to back pressure build up which is as a result of soot build up etc....

So essentially the soot burns to ash..which builds up in dpf as it cannot be burned..which reduced soot collection capacity so dpf fills up quicker which results in more dpf regens

I lsst got my csr serviced in mid Nov 2020... prior to that it was an oil change in late June 2020...service indicator reset...i had grange run a report and it had done 53 regens..apparently all successful..no failed or partial regens..

Still got early service ..after about 2000 miles

hi
I had an xf prior to the RRsport one of the actuators failed on the turbo and caused the DPF to fail
it completely blocked it with soot etc and loads of black smoke from he engine,
the garage i used at the time were testing a way to clean the dpf chemically they tested it on my car once the actuator was repaired and it completely cleaned it no need to replace
i have lost touch with the garage since i have moved but i think other garages will do the same.
