United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red
SOLD Range Rover L494/L405 Rear View Mirror with Camera

For Sale

A Range Rover L494/L405 Rear View Mirror complete with the camera. It is the US specification and so comes with three buttons for transmitting to electric drive gates or electric garage doors etc.

This was removed from a 2016 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT and the VIN was SALWR2PF8GA591357

This is the mirror with the small camera and so it can be used to upgrade your current vehicle to install the Automatic High Beam (AHB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).

This will need coding to your existing vehicle and using the GAP IId Tool. This can be done with Pat’s help

Code is GPLA-17E678-HC and from information both myself and ‘pjbracer1’ have now discovered, the ‘G’ indicates that it will fit MY2015/16 vehicles and any mirrors with the ‘D’ will indicate a fitment to a MY2013/14 vehicle.

I bought this mirror in error (as I have a MY2014 vehicle) and due to shipping costs and import taxes, it owes me just over £310. At this time I would be prepared to accept £290 plus postage for it.

If anyone is interested in carrying out this much sought after upgrade and you have a MY2015 or a MY2016 Range Rover or Range Rover Sport, then please let me know.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask

Sorry to be the possible bearer of bad news but I think the HomeLink signals are different in the US to the ones in the UK so I doubt very much if you will be able to pair it up to a UK spec set of gates or garage door!

I bought one for my old D4 that was a US spec and after trying everything to get it coded and after long conversations with the folk from HomeLink the unit number was confirmed as US spec and would not work in the UK - sorry. "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Yes you are right. Other UK based forum members have tried to get the buttons to work on UK sourced electric gates or garage doors and the frequencies are in fact different.

As the mirrors; with or without the buttons are very rare, any prospective UK based purchaser will buy the camera in order to add the TSR and LDW options and presumably decide not to worry about three buttons that they cannot use whether or not they have electric gates or garage doors

Of course, for any overseas purchaser, this may not be an issue and looking at the list of members on this forum who may read this advert, there are certainly a few of those who may be interested. "Every Day is a School Day"

Looks like I will have to take a bigger 'hit' on this than I first thought.

Perhaps the upgrade is not to everybody's taste

Bit of a long shot, but I think I've got a mirror from a 13/14 vehicle with the camera when I should have got the 15/16. Did you ever sell your GPLA mirror? And if not, would you be interested in a trade for my DPLA?
