P400e servicing

Nearly a year ago my wife bought a Discovery Sport P240, a change from the usual diesels.
The salesman said it required serving every two years/21K miles and gave two quotes for a service plan based on this, though neither taken out. Now my wife has received service reminders, based on annual/16k servicing, and following several conversations with the dealership has been told it is definitely annual servicing, web searches show we are not the only confused parties.
When I bought my RRS P400e, a couple of months ago, I had assumed that, as it was the same engine as my wife’s, it would also be 2 years/21k. Any searching for information from LR just seems to just give a “depends on usage” comment. It also made me think for the P400e it is a quite confusing question, if someone doesn’t bother to ever plug it in then the mileage will equate to the engine usage, but if someone plugs it for every journey, and these are short, the engine will have had a very quiet life.
When have other P400e owners had their cars serviced? 20 RRS P400e HSE Dynamic Eiger grey/Ebony - Gone

The P400e requires servicing annually or every approx 16,000 miles, whichever comes first. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Ive had mine 18 months and just done 16000 miles and no service indicator has come up in the car or the App?
Just phoned Land Rover stockport and they say 21,000 miles or 2 years which ever comes first.

whichever way you look at it 2 years is a hell of a long time for a big heavy car to go without a service.

They're not that different mechanically to an l320 and stuff falls off them on a monthly basis 2012 SDV6 HSE (technically its hers)

I wouldn’t have taken out the maintenance on the lease if I’d known that. I couldn’t find any information on the service schedule when I ordered it in the middle of 2019.

I miss cars having a paper service book which says in clear print how often the car needs a service!

21,000 miles before a service Shocked

I know this is the trend, to have big service gaps, but I think it encourages people to not maintain, what is a complex bit of engineering. If it was mine, I'd be doing intermittent servicing every 10,000 miles, but that probably partly explains why all my cars keep going for years.

I’m with CornishRob; maintenance is paramount. I am aware of the confusion over P400e servicing schedules, I myself had two conflicting messages but it got clarified I am annually 16k miles. I am a low mileage driver, I will service annually without fail. I don’t think anything more frequent is necessary (like 6 monthly oil changes), cars are pretty tough these days. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
