Hi your motor is only worth book value when dealing with insurances so be aware, also if they carry claim costs over the 3 years when you need it they may decline as the cost of repairs out way the payout on the policy.

yep agreed it doenst say that in the terms so its unclear unless they treat it on a claim by claim basis as to thevlaue of te car a the time but yes its only every book and more often than not its dealer book value which is useless to a consumer might be what you get for it trading in but not what you can repalce or buy one for!

I suspect it would be on a case by case basis but its worth asking the question prior to signing up i guess, to be fair they are all just insurance policies, same as the driving ones they are just betting that enmasse most wont get stolen or have an accident.

I remember the days when i were a lad! Trying to insure Golf GTI's and they cost me a fortune! but thats the price for driving the car you really want, still it kept me honest and working! If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

I just got a quote from RAMP (Cheers Holmesy84) and the price is very fair havent gone throught he T and C's' but the offer looks pretty good.

It works out at £799 for 1 year All Mechanical and electronics, £1299 for 2 yrs and £1699 for 3 years and they refer it as like4like and cover full dealer labour rates!

I think this sounds like a win I just need to go through the terms as they are all selling insurance policies really and gambling that nothign should go wrong, I think all of the poilcies for all the problems we read about on here probably still win, as we only hear about the bad stuff and how mnay cars are out there that we dont hear about or the owners just pay out anyway?

It is tricky to trust insurers due to their nature of rejecting everything if they can, but this seems pretty reasonable and seems to include AA recovery!
Terms are here (this doesnt include failures around the MOT I assume you can pay extra for that and if it fails its MOT for somethign then they cover that too maybe!

How did you get the quote ? Was it online or did you have to contact them direct ? Thanks.

I just put my details in the contact us page and told them the model of my car and asked them how warranty would be.

And they were pretty quick in sending a quote back 2 days and havent called ( i did just put in the details I would prefer an email) Ill call them when lockdown is over and and the car can be used more and see if I can haggle the price donw or maybe get soem more info out of them but on the face of the quote is pretty good, I guess they are not main stream either as id onyl heard of them once before and to be honest had forgetten them before seeing them in the pst again!

A smart man might try and see if there was enough interest from us lot and maybe try and get a discount for forum members!

Really interested in this as my current warranty direct policy comes up for renewal in a few months.

The key thing for me is that the Crank is covered.. What are the other common faults that you need to be covered for? My car is MY15.5 with 42k miles.

Warranty Direct last year paid for Rear differ pinion seal and throttle body and motor. No issues with either claim.

Hi, my warranty direct policy runs out end of February and have received a letter offering renewal for another year which surprised me after reading this post
The cost has increased by about 20% and I only have basis cover plus suspension parts etc.

Great news! So has someone taken over their policies? Any changes to the the T&C’s?

I think they cover for Crank issues..

The main reason I have the policy is to cover the crank should the worst happen. Don’t know about the detailed T&Cs but the above is what they sent me.

Evening all. I’m still trying to decide on a warranty. I have had this back today from Ramp

I also see that warranty direct are back but under a different parent company. The website is warrantydirect.first basest.net. The website doesn’t seem to be working fully yet though. Can’t get a quote.
