I would suggest the suspension warning light came on after whatever caused the fire...either melting wires or tyre /brake related...

I had a close encounter of a total burn down , when the DPF in my my former RRS 3.0 TDV6 started to catch fire destroying some wiring harness. The car was saved by quickly detaching the battery.
