Does the cover of the luggage compartment courtesy lamp just pop off easily or does the side panel have to come off?

The lamp aint working so I need to check the bulb although it could be a fuse but I'll check the easiest first.

Hi Chris

The light unit just pops out, no need to remove the side panel. Just pop a small blade screwdriver under on side and it comes out, just don't let the connector fall back inside the hole. On mine there is no bulb just a panel with 3 led's om it, just upgraded mine to more powerful ones including the 2 tailgate ones, now i can actually see in my boot when it's dark.

What lights did you use for the upgrade? I have the LED ones in there but yes they could have a little more kick to them if im honest, the light panel does jsut pop out but I think its a repalce the whole fitting as opposed to an LED bulbs liek on the 1st gen RRS If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

Just noticed that the luggage compartment lamp and the two tailgate lamps are out - there doesn't seem to be a separate fuse for this though.

So yes boys and girls, you must have guessed by now........what is it they say ? RTFM ?

I'd inadvertently turned the interior lights off never noticed as I'm not allowed out at night probably just as well !!

At least you found the problem

The upgrade lights came from Powerful.co.uk. They do a full range of interior light upgrades, but i only went for the boot space ones, they have made a huge difference, can recommend them.

Nothing better than an easy fix mate! Ill be honest didnt know you could turn the off! I fitte LED ones on my 1st gen so that on occasion I was out and about at night or out in the countryside and the boot was open the led use less power so wouldnt flatten the battery as quick! If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!
