Bit more detail. I have worked out today that I think it is a dif locking up momentarily. It doesn’t start knocking until you hit a pot hole or spin a wheel on the verge. When I watch the 4x4 info you can see the difs light up briefly when it first starts. |

Update for anyone else with similar problems. Vehicle went into main dealer last week as it was due a service anyway. They diagnosed a faulty transfer box. They have done a double flush (changed the oil twice) on the transfer box and it now all seems ok. There is a bulletin out for this fault LTB00906NAS4. |

I'm surprised they change the oil twice but I guess they're using the first change to clean out any build up of sludge (or whatever the oil does when it deteriorates).
