Passed the MOT today

My car was one extended by this 6 month jobbie and so today had its test for the 1st Nov anniversary. No advisories and the emissions are 0.17 1/m of a limit of 1.50 1/m. Tester commented on how good the condition of the car is. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

My 2005 Cairns Blue is also doing well. 86,000 miles on the clock now.

Had a good service just last week and performing wonderfully here. All ready for the rain and the 'less warmer' weather coming up.

Didn't use her too much over the summer as my wife has now got herself a little Fiat 500C which we had fun in.

BJH ours is at 82k and is in reduced usage because of how my working shift patterns have changed because of COVID, so where I was doing 64 miles per day, I’m now on a 2 and 3 day week alternating. I’ve saved what seems a fortune on fuel but it’s still getting a run. Thumbs Up 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 SE Tonga Green

Mine passed two weeks ago with advisories on the discs which I'm pleased about as I was thinking of doing something with the brakes, are drilled and grooved worth the effort or just stick with solid discs as I'm no speed merchant as I did that for work?. Any help/advice appreciated.

Andy,

I’ve recently upgraded to V8 brakes with genuine LR discs and pads. The old “small” brakes were end of life so the opportunity presented itself. It’s night and day for me with immediately a noticeable improvement. I’d be the last person to be accused of pressing on and with occasional towing I chose the genuine route as a starting point, with the mindset that if I was still wanting then go aftermarket the next time. In my case I now know I’ll stick with genuine as it’s more than good enough for me.

Yeah I think so without looking at the paperwork. I might be wrong but in size order (smallest first):

2.7 brakes
V8
Brembos’

Somebody will be along with sizes I’m sure Thumbs Up 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Mine had a service and MOT today. MOT passed so that's good. Had the gearbox flushed too as is good practice.

All good.

But...crossover pipe found to be split. That'll be a body off job then. Oh well, it's only money...

Indy suggested doing the rear fixed brake pipes when the body is off. So that'll be done too. That's peanuts, however.

2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Good news on the MOT passes chaps Thumbs Up

Not so good on that crossover pipe though Wayne Big Cry

And talking of gearboxes, that reminds me, I need to change the fluid in the 8 speed box in the fatty. It's at 60k so probably due as I doubt it's ever been done previously. Kev
