I would say tap into the rear power socket in the back of the centre console would be the best option for hardwiring. This is what I did in my 2006 Sport, worked a treat and the cables are almost completely hidden. 2006 RRS S/C CONSTANTLY under modification...

When i did mine , i used a fuse tap from the glove box . Was quite easy to run under carpet. |
