No issues with my 2010 when I've dis-connected the battery, if that's any help.

Thanks Dave, all I need is to try to reset the ECU as I got an issue with my tailgate switch but I want to make sure the radio does not need any code or so...

I don't know if this applies to the RRS, but experience with resetting ECUs on Audis, where the battery needed to be disconnected for an extended period of time (30 mins) so residual voltage/current drained out of the system (assume capacitors). I actually disconnected the Audi overnight. MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green) |

I think they stopped having radio codes before the year 2000 (approx.) |

All you will have to do is reset date on the dash as will default to 2009, reset the window one touch operation, and also sunroof "one touch" closing if you have a sunroof. That's it. Out of curiosity what is your tailgate switch issue.

Hi Col, since I bought the car the tailgate switch never worked so I can only open the boot by fob or button inside the car( dashboard), replaced it for a new one witch should work as soon you connect it but unfortunately still can’t open the boot on the actual switch. I think at this point that could be the ECU still thinking that the switch is faulty and not recognise the new one so I want to try and reset the ECU to factory settings. Any tips would be much appreciated at this point. |

Probably won't make any difference, but have you tried to reset tailgate opening height to see if it does do anything, manually lift tailgate to full height and press and hold the close button in bottom of tailgate until it beeps, only a thought. I do have wiring diagram of the circuit if it helps.

It’s worth to try Col thanks for the tip. Do you think you can send me the diagram so I can find where the wires go and try to see if it’s not broken. Thanks |

No problem. Have just sent another PDF which may be of some use as you don't have one, put it together during lockdown for something to do so may not be perfect. Hopefully relates to your vehicle.
