Today happened something awkward with my P400e for the first time! I parked the car with the trunk in direction of the sun, and it was parked for 2 hours, the outside temperature was 30º degrees, nothing special.

When i opened the car, it was hot inside but nothing special as well, my dynamic came with privacy glass and don't gets too hot inside. When i started the car, with half of battery left, the car only started in combustion engine, the EV never turned in. I stoped in 2 places before i arrive home, and always the same, no EV, only Gas.

Then i parked 1 hour at the home garage , and when i went to pick my kid to school, everything went back to normal. I spoke with the LR dealer and he said, that happens due a safety protection for the batteries, because of the temperature.

I think it was quite strange, it was not so hot! In warmer countries Is possible to run the P400e in EV? Awkward! Anyone had a similar experience??? RRS 2020 P400e HSE Dynamic

I have not had this experience in hot weather up to 38C in France and in London, with varying battery levels.

At home, I tend to park with my bum facing due west, so it gets the full afternoon sun. I prefer it due to the privacy glass taking the brunt of it. But no EV issues.

It may have been coincidence with another factor. Like low 12V battery. Or aged petrol in the tank that needs burning away... when did you last refuel?

On the subject of sun and heat, though, I have the solar attenuating windscreen. I bought a custom fit windscreen shade and did some testing... the shade only saved about half a C for inside temperature. I think it was "isolated episode", it never happened again!

i refilled the tank my second time last month with 40% of fuel and 3000km, so it was not a fuel issue!

And it was not so hot... so maybe it was not a temperature issue as well.

Maybe it was something in the computer!

I got some advises when this happens, to turn off the car, close the car, wait one minute and open the car and start again, and in that should be normal.
