I've just put a holding deposit down on a late 2016 RRS Autobiography (4.4 SDV8) from a MD in Stafford. I haven't seen it as its currently at their prep centre being prepared for sale (nothing cosmetic thankfully after inspection) but should see some pics and a walkaround video tomorrow or Friday with it being delivered to me next week if all is good.

I have been advised that they will carry out any work that is required on it prior to it leaving (such as needing a service if due etc), should there be anything else that I should be asking them to do before releasing it (my first RRS), such as software updates, nav updates, any software upgrades that could include anything such as Apple Carplay etc? Although its a super late 2016 model it did fall into the 2017 spec so has the wider infotainment screen and the other bits such as lane assist etc etc.... They are giving me a 1 yr warranty with the option to extend to 2 yrs, anything else that I can get from them?!!

Congrats - I believe you had to pay for the Apple car play to be activated on that update ICE. Also check the tyres - they should all be contis or Pirelli Scorpions - mine decieded to only change 3 as part of the user car prep - I had 3 Pirellis and 1 conti - quickly addressed.

I would also ask for print outs of historic services with previous owner details removed - I find this useful for my car file and contains more data than the online history.

Not sure what type of alloys your car has - if diamond cut, look closely to ensure water hasn't penetrated the laquer.

Not sure if they are doing a service - ask for a screen shot of the service due indicator and the ad blue indicator

The software update to include Apple CarPlay is free but usually has to be activated by the dealer, just ask them to make sure it’s been updated. Current version is 20B I believe. MY2017 RRS Capathian Grey

You sure about ACP? My dealer was going to charge me a fair whack to install it (around 200 maybe?) but they ended up doing it FOC anyway as I was grumbling about endless warranty work at the time. This was about 18 months ago mind. Ferrari F430 Spider F1

I have requested it with the dealer and he is going to check. I've now seen a walkaround video of it and it looks really nice so hopefully it'll be on my driveway next week! I was aware it had Ivory/Ebonu interior and was hoping the seats would be beige, however the seats and black with the doorcards, roof lining and dash in ivory. Sensible head on it is probably a bit more practical given the kids in the back plus light colour seats will often stain easier.

Couple of other questions if I may please.... I like to have a tweak and play with my cars as such, does anyone know how straight forward the following is?

- adding an aftermarket sub woofer and amp onto the Meridian system? Is it a case of tapping into the sub wires with a line-out converter to get a signal? (this is how I have done it on my M3, S63, E63 etc in the past)

- sidesteps - I would like to get some sidesteps fitted, are there any go to aftermarket suppliers? Not fussed about the electrically deployable ones

- it comes with 21" alloys and I would like to up them to 22", I like the SVR wheels but really don't want to spend the money on genuine ones. Are there any decent replica sites out there selling decent quality reps? Bear in mind I won't be going offroad in her!

22” wheels I have a set for sale they Hawke & a very good aftermarket wheel which I’ve had on 4x sports now,no buckles & never been cracked or welded fitted with conti sport 5 tyres all with 3mm with even wear tread & tpms sensors I’ll take £750 for them collected.

Better off with these,the brackets are cast alloy which you can still use as the jacking points.These are the sort I always fit.

Cool thank you, i've messaged them to see if they do them with black side parts rather than the aluminium inserts..... Cheaper than I was expecting so all good!

The metal bits are just riveted on,I drilled the rivets out on mine then had them painted black.Ive had 2 sets from them.
