Fitting a tow bar Questions

Hi All,

I have a range rover sport l494 my 14 (on a 63 plate) HSE dynamic.

It has never had a tow bar fitted. my questions are:

If i have a removable tow bar fitted does it need coding if i use car specific wiring?

I have read it locks the suspension in normal mode, remaps the engine and gear box and activates tow assist is this correct?

Does the tow assist come with the decoding or is it already activated?

I have the 5 cameras two on the front 2 in the mirrors and one at the rear is this what is needed for the advanced tow assist? is it even an option can i get it enabled?

I would like to have as much functionality as i can get from the car in terms of towing but im not willing to pay land rover over £2000 to fit an electric tow bar so.....

What are the best options if i get a removable tow bar fitted?

thanks in advance

Ed

Hi,
ours was a 2016 dynamic and had a removable fitted by landrover dealership when we bought it used
(so dont know about coding?)

did not Lock it in normal mode as used access sometimes to hook up the tintent, did disable the rear parking sensors
(did not have tow assist)

cost was about £900 and included the cut away rear panel, which we hardly ever used as rotated the electrics plug slightly and still used the original full cover panel

Thumbs Up Porsche Cayenne 2022
gone Porsche Cayenne 2020
gone Corris Grey HSE Dynamic 2016
gone Ipanema HSE lux 2010
gone Rimini HSE 2005
