Range Rover sport 2009 knocking from the front when turning

Hi new to the forum

Got Range Rover sport 2.7 2009 that’s developed a knock when turning and driving me mad I have had it on the ramp can’t find any play in the lower or upper suspension joints I’ve changed as follows

Anti roll bar bushes front
Inner and outer tie rods

Only knocks when turning side to side
It’s been in our own garage another garage and no one can find the issue
I’m thinking steering rack but can’t feel. Any play that I can see is there a way to check the steering for play
Any ideas guys or I’m going to see how far I can get the car off Dover cliffs lol

I had the same issue with my 2010. No play in any of the joints but it made a creaking noise when turning the steering, and it seemed to be louded in warmer weather.

I sprayed all the bushes/joints under the car with some white lithium grease spray (used up the full can) and it hasn't made a peep since.

This is defiantly a knock metal on metal somewhere but no one can seem to find it including myself I had the creek noise before and as u did sprayed it up and has gone but this steering knock is driving me mad done antiroll bar bushes as they was knocking and that’s gone and now a new steering knock did the inner and outer tie roads and feels little tighter in the steering but still knocking when turning left and right

Maybe worth checking all 4 drop link bolts are tight, as had knocking on mine and when changing them one nut but was loose.

Have you checked wheel bearings?

Does your vehicle have the hydraulic anti-roll bars fitted? If so, there is a known issue that moving the steering from side to side can cause a knock. Seems to be inherent in the system. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yeah this one has the big motor type thing on the anti roll bar only thing I have noticed is the steering knuckle and the thing that connect the steering rack to the Collum has lot play in it and sounds like a knocking sound might replace that and see what I get as still get vibration from steering wheel

I have the same on a 2005 model. Changed loads and it still knocks, only i don't have the hydraulic arb's. I think we just have to learn to live with it.
