Pivi pro has made its way in to the Evoque and Disco so the L494 now has out of date software! Will be making it's way to the L494 soon. New steering wheel too!

Hey mate,

As far as I read that was just the Disco Sport and Evoque?

The MY21 RRS/RR is already announced now with just small changes?

MY22 RR/RRS might have Pivi Pro though if they can't get the new model out in time but we shall see I guess !!

I have a feeling it needs either a new platform or an extensive facelift that the current RR/RRS D7 platform can't provide.

So you were semi right ? Razz Non JLR Vehicle

The Pivi pro (using the same screens as on the L494 currently - just like the updated Evoque) will begin from March 2021 apparently. Wont make it to the September 2020 cars.

That would be a shame as I’ve got an RRS due soon lol

But mine is already a 21.5 on the build sheet, are you saying they’re going to bring out MY22 in March??

That being said I played with Pivi Pro in the Defender and it was really much the same as before just a new design and I guess better processors? All of it seemed pretty similar to InControl Pro Duo, was expecting something revolutionary lol Non JLR Vehicle

Hey mate, I was told it *might* be released as part of the MY22 update cycle, so May(ish) announce and September release.

Are you sure your dude said it would release as a half year update? Would be unusual for them to do it that way?

Maybe thats why the September shipping cars are already marked as MY21.5 and they're going to release MY22 early?

Who knows.

Also on another note, looks like the AJ-V8 engine is here to stay for at least another 3-5 years from what I read so thats interesting!! Non JLR Vehicle

They've done it before. The MY17 wide screen update was quickly updated with the MY18 Dual Screens. They are unable to launch the updated version in September 2020 due to Covid delays - the plan was to but it's not happening yet! March 2021 it will appear. It's not big deal only a new steering wheel linked to a new speedo screen (higher resolution) and then linked to the twin screens already in the car. The positives is that the beta testing will be done on the Evoque Very Happy

Will suck for me with my car due in a few weeks though!!!

Lol

The more I think about it the more I'm not fussed actually, don't really like the new steering wheel design and I really don't want to beta test another JLR software system so think its actually quite sensible to sit out the first round of the new hardware until all the bugs are ironed out.

Just hope they don't just suddenly stop developing the older InControl Pro systems . . . Non JLR Vehicle

Sort of lol

This is the design from the Evoque so the RR/RRS design won't be identical but it will be similar . . .

Velar now updated too which leaves the FFRR and RRS the two most premium models with outdated infotainment systems Rolling with laughter
JLR really are a funny bunch.

Expect the updated versions of these in March 2021 Smile

I’ve read mixed reviews on the new Pivi Pro infotainment system. Some people say it’s not faster than the current offering, others say it’s barely faster? Anybody have real world experience and able to provide feedback? 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE

I’ve seen something very similar driving round towing a small trailer.
