I bought a genuine hard boot liner which has a few handy cut outs and makes the bit on the right usable. Joined the X5 45e club

nearly bought one of those before picking up the vehicle, opted for the rubber mat as i thought ithe load liner would cause issues when seats folded flat carrying large items. Now i know seats don't fold completely flat like they did in my Disco and actually would have been fine.

I agree, the storage is very limited - the door pockets are not great either. I got one of these seat back storage units which are pretty good:

You can fit a net across the alcove, VPLWS0433 - Side Luggage Net for Range Rover Sport L494 Loadspace Area, got one from lrparts.
