Guys.

Got a small but me off issue. So I press the open boot on the key fob. Sometimes this works and the boot opens fully. I then press the button on the boot and it closes again. All standard working stuff.

Lately I have been pressing the button on the fob and I am sure its releasing the lock but the boot never comes up. I have to manually raise the boot up. Sometimes closing it the boot will go down a bit then stop.

However if I use the fob again it typically unlocks, opens and then I can close as normal

Any ideas? ===========================================

Previously had similar issue, but seemed to be ambient temp related, if it was quite hot it did it occasionally, replaced the external switch between the rear number plate lights and has been fine ever since must be over 4 years now. Could have been pure coincidence as regards to the temp though.

Interesting because I have exact same issue. I had the aftermarket close kit fitted several years ago. But recently the lid unlatches but fails to lift open. However If I push the tailgate closed and try again it always works on the second attempt. Strange that. Could possibly be a sticky release latch. RRS (MY13) Santorini Black SDV6 HSE luxuary

The heat issue might hold some truth. I defo think its worse when its a really hot day. ===========================================

I dont use mine very often , and noticed it was sticking sometimes

Greased up the sill , Works fine now as long as i use it every now and then in the hot weather

Hi,

Try recalibrating the tail gate.

The method is in the manual, possibly in the “Entering the vehicle” section.


For the L494 you do this:-

To reset the tailgate:

Manually close the tailgate.

Press the tailgate release button.

Allow the tailgate to fully open or open to the previously set position.

Press and release the tailgate release button.

Allow the tailgate to power-close fully. The tailgate's programmed memory is restored.
