Suspension Failure

It started with the ride height only warning intermittent, happened maybe three times over a couple of weeks, then went to suspension failure on Friday.
My mechanic days the error code refers to the pump.
The pump does run and is producing some airflow.
Sounds noisy to me but I guess that might be the fact I've never listened for it before. Question is does the pump totally fail or is it possible it's just not producing enough pressure?
Problem is there's so many stories about other possibilities.

They do fail in a number of ways, and do need accurate diagnostics carried out to confirm the fault 100%

We do a fair number of compressors, but only after carrying out diagnosis for compressor output, leak detection etc

Trouble is, many garages think that a low pressure code is automatically a faulty pump, when it may actually be an air leak. This then causes the new pump to run longer than is necessary, causing this to wear out quicker than it should

Hi,

Mine turned out to be a leak on the front strut on the D3 and it was the desiccant on the RRS. Not much help, sorry. Have you done the service on the compressor?
Cheers
Paul

Hi.

I've had the car for 3 years, the compressor hasn't been serviced while I've had it.
The pump makes a typical compressor sound when it's running, not sure if it should be noisy or not?
When it started with the main fault both fronts were down in access height but the backs were in normal height mode.
After that all four corners were completely down and won't go back up.
Does this sound like a leak on the front rather than a compressor issue?

Thanks 2012 SDV6 HSE LUXURY in Orkney grey.
