Software on early L494

I am looking to purchase an early L494 and hoping to negotiate with the dealer to include all software updates and nav updates. With some dealers being very trustworthy, I'm sure I would not have an issue, but just incase.......

1). How do I tell which software version and sat-nav version is currently running on the vehicle?

2). Is there a list somewhere that shows what the latest versions are for a particular model year etc?

3). What do you think my chances are of getting this all for free as part of a deal? Smile

Thanks in advance

I believe you can press and hold the valet button for a length of time, then you’ll drop the screen into an engineering mode that shows some versions. Not sure iirc which though.

And if it’s a main dealer, they should do this as part of the delivery. Map updates may not be included though. MY15.5 HSE

Thanks for that. I have bought a 2014 HSE and the dealer agreed to do all software and maps as part of the deal. I collect the car at the end of the week. Although I will be able to see version numbers in the system, I dont know what the latest version is for the car and therefore wont know if the dealer had updated or not. Current - 2020 Range Rover Sport P400e

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red

Hello,

I have just gone through the 'trauma' of updating my Sat Nav from the original 2014 version to the latest and found this link very useful for checking that the update had actually happened (two hours later):

The latest version is 2018 I believe for the system that we have in our vehicles due to JLR updating the software on their vehicles "Every Day is a School Day"

Be careful you know what you’re getting. I know someone who bought the HERE upgrade thinking it would give them the new satnav interface on an older RRS. The upgrade is just the map data, I.e. new road layouts etc.

Given there’s very little road building in the country, I decided it wasn’t worth it. MY15.5 HSE

Collected the car today. The sat nav maps have been upgraded.

It is well worth having as the car is a 2014 and large sections of roads like the A1 have completely changed over the years. Current - 2020 Range Rover Sport P400e
