Supercharged Transmission

hi all I'm just listing what could be cause to an issue to try get through

Currently if I set off sometimes it will not go when you put acceleration on it revs like in neutral. On most occasions if you let off gas then let it drop and re press it will go. However some cases I have to go into reverse then drive and it will set off. Once its in and moving I have no issues its the initial setting off. For example setting off on round about or junction or setting off from home and so on.

The garage I went to say it could be a bush and the gearstick might not be fully going into drive.

My question is have you had this happen or know of it for me to look at what might fix it

Thanks as always guys

Yes the bush on the gear selector under the car should be looked at/adjusted/replaced firstly. Which is a relativly easy job.

Other than that, it could be low fluid level particularly if its cold when it happens

Might be worth giving something like this try.

If you want to have a go yourself;

When my gear selector went stiff (ooh err missus) I dropped the undertray and soaked the pivot with penetrating fluid, worked the lever a bit then lubricated it with some silicone spray. Been fine for the last 18 months. If you do it yourself, be very careful to follow the correct sequence, a member on here I think, didn't and had to have work done on the gearbox.
