Hello all,
I have now decided as we slowly begin to see the start of the end of lock down that
now may be the time to update the SAT NAV in the RRS,
She was Manufactured in 2012 (unknown Date)
and First Registered 21/12/2012

Am I correct in thinking my system is the HDD 2.1 that needs the USB Download
that is used between 2012 & 2019 ish

I have found this place on the www that seems to have reasonable rating,

I think I would go with the Map update sent by post + Activation code
option as it would give me less chance of messing it up..

Can anyone advise if I am correct and is there anything to watch out for when doing this ?

On a MY13 car you will have the 2.1 gen system. The Usb stick was only used between 2012 and 2016 later vehicles used a different system, but not to saying the latest maps have not been added to a stick to use on the earlier 2012/16 cars.

Yes, it did take a little over 2 hours to upload, last time I did mine left the car idling on the drive, cost more in petrol than the map cost it will start and stop if you wanted to do it that way but I preferred to do it in one go, probably make no difference but though it less chance of anything going wrong.

Also be very careful with it .

I updated mine and it kept error'ing . So i had to keep turning off and turning back on again

In the end , it looked like it worked, but i had no ability to search for any new postcodes.

I had to wait till a "Newer" update was avaliable and to flash that over top.

With all that being said.. it was pretty rubbish after the 2019 update. Liked taking me on 1hr+ detours.

That's the map I used, I download onto my own USB stick which from memory was 4 .rar files which you expand onto the stick. You can expect the update to sit on 0% for quite a while then it heads to 100% quicker, I did it in one go. I was too impatient so didn't wait the 30 minutes shutdown (or whatever it says) after the update so I got a worrying black screen - just wait the time as per instructions before powering back up and all should be fine. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

I am fairly inept when it comes to electronics and stuff so I will be getting the
Map update sent by post + Activation code

I guess the Map by post is already on a USB ready to go, ?

Then you just have the activation key relevant to your VIN number to
make it all work..

I will either have to waste a 1/4 tank of fuel or do it over several days with start
and stopping it when parked up..

Are there any better known suppliers or is this one good enough.. ===========================================
