Having problems with my 2008 RRS. Changed the compressor for an Aerosus Hitachi style replacement. I'm now getting a C1A13 fault code.

Any ideas or can anyone recommend a mobile tech in the Taunton/Bridgwater area who might be able to take a look?

Thanks for that. My understanding is that the exhaust valve is integral to the compressor so (I know it's not a 100% solid assumption!) that shouldn't be the cause. That being the case, what's the easiest way to diagnose the exhaust silencer/pipe, reservoir pipes and gallery pipes? Thx.

So this is driving me a bit nuts... I decided to replace the centre reservoir block as well as I was a bit dubious that this could relate to the pressure sensor but I still ultimately get the same fault.

Current situation:
1. Start up the car, pump kicks in and ultimately stops with a hiss. No issues at this point.
2. Check reservoir block with soapy water, no leaks, everything looks good.
3. Leave the car running, about 30 secs to 2 mins later, the C1A13 is logged.

Pump as mentioned previously is a Hitachi replacement from Aerosus (beginning to wonder if that was a good buy or I should have bitten bullet and bought genuine Hitachi) and the centre reservoir block is from Bearmach.

I've also tried removing the larger of the two pipes from the rear of the pump (which I understand goes to the exhaust silencer) to try and discount that being blocked but it seems I get the same issue.

Any help and ideas appreciated!

Hmm... so a bit more on this... I'm wondering if it's a wiring issue. Took the plug to the pump apart and reinserted and now, the fault doesn't come up unless I hit the switch to raise or lower the suspension. I've read on the disco3 forum that this might be due to wiring either behind the headlight or in the wheel arch depending on which MY my 57 plate car turns out to be. Anyone heard of this?

I've had no luck with cheap, aftermarket compressors...

Beginning to think it was the wrong call although Aerosus was recommended by someone (not here) as something half reliable.

You think it's worth troubleshooting with that pump or just go for it and stick a Hitachi or reputable (recommendations?) OEM on?

Ideally, you want a diagnostic tool that can activate the exhaust valve, and check for correct voltage, and load test the wiring, before condemning the compressor

But, I've never seen an exhaust valve wiring fault on an EU4 car

Buying good quality parts for the RRS goes a long way in eliminating future heartaches.

In the spirit of providing updates on the final outcome of a problem. It was indeed the compressor at fault. Extensive diagnostics at a garage followed by swapping out the compressor for a genuine Hitachi solved the issue. Aerosus compressor being returned for a full refund!
