I asked GS Sheffield about the crankshaft on my car I have bought as it was purchased from there and serviced - about whether they would cover the crankshaft if it failed (I am aiming to take out a WD warranty) as I’ll have a 6m dealership warranty. Anyone had any success of a full claim through LR without using a warranty recently?

I am sorry cannot give you a yes/ no answer, all Land Rover claims would be looked at by a claim by claim.
If the car had a fault (any fault) we would need to check the car & report back to Land Rover for them to decide if they would like to make a goodwill gesture to repairs.

Goodwill from Land Rover seems to be very hit and miss, have a look on disco4.com, there are numerous tales from both ends of the spectrum and everywhere between. I think the sound advice is don’t expect anything, then you won’t be disappointed. Joined the X5 45e club

Have they now knocked the approved warranty down to 6 month ,I got 2 years on mine March 2019 just before the made it 12 month.
It makes you wonder if it’s worth buying from a LR dealer anymore,might as well buy private for 5k less & more & put your own warranty on it. Andy.

I’ve bought from an independent dealer who I know well - they giving me 6m warranty and I’ve saved prob £5-6k on a dealership used price - as the car was purchased and serviced at GS Sheffield thought I’d chance it and see what they say!
