New to the forum thoughts plz

Hi guys
This is my first post so be nice lol
I'm looking at a 2007 2.7tdv6 in the next couple of days I just want to know your thoughts on it it's very very clean no rust full history including belts done suspension pump done gearbox service pretty much most stuff that can go wrong has been sorted I'm just a bit nervous about the mileage its 135k miles
I know the 2.7 can be a bit underpowered I'm not looking for speed anymore I'll get on my bike if I want a blast (I must be getting old lol )
Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Cheers Phil c

Buy, enjoy, just have a few quid spare for bits and bobs that will naturally go wrong.

If its been fully serviced then 135k is absolutely fine on the 2.7.

Solid lump if looked after.

enjoy and welcome.

Dave

Oil pumps on 2007 models are a big concern, particularly if the belt has recently been changed.

It's an Engine destruction waiting to happen,

The oil pump housing is also the cambelt tensioner mount which can fail. There is a modified oil pump available which should be done when cambelt is changed

Run

Thanks for the heads up
Is it just a new oil pump that is needed or is it a specific updated pump housing

Cheers Phil

2007 will be due a second belt change soon, make sure it’s had the belts and oil pump done.
On my 2006 in 20 months I’ve changed.
Alternator and battery, front and rear prop, a/c condenser, front to rear brake pipes, gearbox electrical oil sleeve. (Gearbox oil leak)
These are all very common parts, that need changing around this age.

I’ve just had mine serviced inc cambelt and oil pump, have a look in my gallery. You can have a wet passenger side footwell, lift any foot mat and have a feel, but I suspect after the recent weather it will be dry. These cars are great vehicles and they do break but probably not as half as folk think Whistle . Photo’s or a link if you can..... 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

My RRS is MY07 with 162k miles currently. Engine has been fine all this time, done the belts/flushes as has yours though not done the pump, it'll be done on my next regular service along with the belts, which will be due 2021.

They're great cars and I really wouldn't be worried about "higher" mileage if they've been properly looked after. As others have said, be prepared for large bills sometimes and know you'll be forever hunting down knocking suspension noises!

Buy a petrol or an EU6 diesel, from 2015 ish if you want to avoid London's daily ULEZ charge. They're expanding it to the entire inner M25 area in 2021, I think I read. £10 or £12 a day! Just factor it into your budget unless you're an eccentric millionaire. Thumbs Up L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

Its actually inside the A205 and A406 (South & North Circulars) but its still going to be a pain. I am amazed my partner's MY08 4.2SC will be exempt though Very Happy
