can any members in Essex recommend a company to install a Ghost 2 system

What car is it going on as ive heard if its a newish car under warranty then LR say the warranty is void if fitted with Ghost. Andy.

its a MY2016 RRS AB

its a approved Used so does have 1 year warranty

I’m an ex RRS owner and now own a Full Fat RR.

Ill put up the post of my dealings with RR and The Ghost Autowatch 11 system ( also a dash cam installation I wanted as well) and you’ll see their reply.





This was the official reply I had off SVO who contacted the LR Warranty Dept.

I presume the Ghost installation is reversible? If it’s not id be concerned, otherwise not sure it would bother me.

Has anyone had first hand issues with an install?

I was going to have a Ghost 2 fitted when I took delivery of my new 3.0 Autobiography back in September, the dealer said it would definitely invalidate the warranty but the company supplying it said it would not .... so I contacted Land Rover Customer Support and this is what they said:

Thank you for your patience.

I have been advised by our Product Manager if a fault occurs as a result of the tracker being fitted then this will invalidate the warranty for this repair.

We cannot confirm if it will have adverse affects on the vehicle, as we do not test them due to them not being approved so we cannot really comment.

Please accept my apologies and any inconvenience caused.

I’ve had one fitted to all of my vehicles...
The earlier software version worked for two years without fault but it seems that using can network buttons had a cumulative effect on the body control module..the BCM picking up a number of spurious signals that caused it to spasm a few times...

JLR wouldn’t look at the car whilst one was fitted to the vehicle...my installer came down and removed it in minutes ( only because he knew where it was hidden)...

The Ghost was reflashed with the latest software and reinstalled in a different fashion...needless to say on an open forum I’m not going to discuss how....

Any new fit on a JLR product is now done slightly differently to the early fitments due to the anomalies when fitted to a JLR vehicle.

It works perfectly and without the secret code the vehicle is going nowhere!

Thoroughly recommend them....it takes about an hour to an hour and a half to fit...there’s a brilliant bloke here in Kent who has fitted hundreds of them and knows the product inside out...PM me for details...
