That’s odd. I have an email from them saying the crank is covered. Catastrophic failure of the engine, would result in a replacement engine are the words used. I actually asked if the crank was covered and have the response in writing. This was last month. The only wiggle room they have after that, is if they decide it’s a “design flaw”, but I can’t see them doing that without JLR agreeing as it’ll be an end to their business model and a huge class action too no doubt.

Hi Dobby. Bought it from a Landrover dealer. Do you mean you have an email from Landrover themselves or from Landrover s warranty company ? |

From the warranty company. I think they’re called Car Care Plan or similar. This was when I was considering extending the approved used warranty after the 2 years I got from the dealership with the vehicle. I went through their T&Cs and asked a load of questions, and to be fair they didn’t baulk at any of them. Crank is covered according to them. MY15.5 HSE MY13 110 MY87 90 (ex-mod) (for sale) |

theres a whole different story over on Disco4. It seems more like the warranty won't cover it as its a known fault, however as long as you have followed all servicing properly (not sure if it needs to be a dealer) then LR will pay up whilst under warranty.
