Bits wear out or fail. Stay with it and fix it. If the Turbos gone you would have to fix it anyway if you chose to pass it on, wouldn’t you? 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

A 2010 TDV8 has got to be worth £10k or so. If you like the RRS my experience is that its worth sticking with it rather than just chucking it away. Yes it is a money pit but the converse is that its great when its working. But of course we all have different circumstances and tastes. Robin

I guess my response of “not worth fixing” is out of sheer frustration. It was probably one of my worst weeks in the last 10 years with everything going wrong that could go wrong and then to crown it the RRS packing up during mid term break as well. It is a great car when all is working. |

Aha! With you now. Best of luck sorting it. Guess your best bet will be a really good local Indie to give you a full assessment of the overall sate of the car - where abouts are you? Whilst it could be turbo(s) there are other things I've read about on here that might also be the problem - split hoses, manifolds etc. Don't give up. There's a lot of expertise on here as well (myself NOT included! ). Robin

had the same issue with mine a while ago,,, was the EGR valve. normally not so much an issue with the V8 compared to the V6. have it looked at, if it is one of the valves it can be fixed for a few hundred quid,,,, but i would bite the bullet and do both valves if one has gone the other will be just behind it and it will work out cheaper in the long run to get the pair done together. 2010 RRS, TDV8

TDV8 EGRs are more reliable than the TDV6 ones. The Turbo is a known weakness. It's worth noting that the PCV valve vents in from of the RHS turbo. Maybe a failure there is causing an issue? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
