United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Rimini Red
Opinions please..

Our 05 supercharged is Rimini red with gloss black wheels and dark tints all round so it looks sort of unique and mean.. Anyway, the wheels are badly scuffed (wife's fault) with alloy showing and the two of the tyres gradually lose 10psi over a period of a few weeks due to the wheels being poorly refurbished by the dealer before we bought it.
So. I'm going to get the wheels done properly ie stripped and powder coated etc but do I keep with black (or a dark grey) or go back to original silver? Mainly to help disguise any future scrapes..
There is a similar car that I see near me with silver and im not sure if it looks as cool- it seems a bit- 'standard'.
On a similar note - my old X5 V8 is silver with silver wheels. Should I go black on those?
Thoughts please. Ta.

Looking at a picture in your gallery, personally I think the black wheels suit the body colour nicely, however on another side I again personally would colour code the door handles and washer jets to the body and possibly do something with the front vents and fit clear repeater lamps, but as I say that is purely a personal view.

Cheers

Yes I think I will stay with the black. I would imagine a powder coated baked finish is a lot tougher than the spray job that's on them.. But that still won't stop the wife from scraping them I suppose.

I'd stick with the black wheels as well. Here's a pic of mine which may help you decide what to do with the X5

Don't think you can beat sticking with originality, definitely silver.

100% I would go back to silver. As the car ages it will wear that funky black less and less convincingly. I know it looks kewl, but for me it’s a bit like when a guy or gal needs to stop dying out the grey hair. Be natural. So now my move for this beautiful car would be to set it up as a timeless example of originality, a celebration if you will. And you’ve not bought a new RRS cos they are kinda gaudy compared to this beauty (as seen on Top Gear in 2005 if I recall!). Thumbs Up L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

Go for silver/grey and that way when they get kerbed again you a. probably won't notice, and b. will be less bothered because it won't be glaringly obvious anyway.

If you for black, the first time there's a mark on them you'll know and then you'll be annoyed. Take the easy option and be less stressed. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
