My HSE has the nicer black external badges, but the yukky green ones on the internal door cards and steering wheel. I know the black door badges are cheap and easily fitted but is there anyway of changing the steering wheel centre badge without buying a whole new airbag? Thanks! |

Brian - you need to buy one of the wheel caps with the black badge. Remove the badge from the plastic carefully. As for the steering wheel the badge there is attached with 4 long prongs, you need to remove this using a screwdriver and a lot of courage but it will come out. Once out stick the new black badge in using double sided pads. There is a thread about this somewhere. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Thanks fellas. It'll probably be easier to just buy the black/silver door badges as ther're very cheap (£2.50) and will save all the fuss. However, the steering wheel sounds a bit tricky and the sort of job that Im bound to screw-up (sli[p and damage the black plasic surround). But, I'll give it a go.

Hi Roland. Ive just ordered the parts: doors badges about £4 each, centre cap £8, plus VAT. I wish my dealer was as generous as Id happily bung £20 for supply and fit. Please let me know how it goes as Id welcome further fitting tips before I set out with my sledge-hammer!!! Regards and Thanks! |

Yep, all sorted. A tip for the removing steering wheel badge is to carefully drill a small pilot hole through the centre, not penetrating the air bag cavity, then insert a self-tapping screw and pull out using pliers. Takes a few minutes and the new badge is ready to insert using araldite or sticky pads. Looks much better than the agricultural green. Thanks for the advice fellas! |

That sounds just a bit too scary for me I'm going to try and convince my dealer to do it. At least he can't refuse on the basis that this would threaten the "conformity" of the car. Wife takes the car in for it's 1,500 KM service next week - she'll ask them to order the door and steering wheels badges then. He's apparently been impatient to see the cosmetic mods I've made to the car. 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge |

I agree that the green badges look pants, Landrover should make the black badges standard, and then come up with a DIFFERENT badge for the Supercharged. Perhaps brushed silver with black letters as an opposite?

Unless they make the green ones the SC ones and the black ones the normal! Then we would all want the green ones again! Confused? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Good point. But the black and silver badges DO genuinely look much better and classier than green and gold. So, I honestly dont think its because theyre Supercharged badges, its entirely due the genuine asthetic superiority. Perhaps the black/silver should indeed be standard and reverse the colour combination to silver/black on the Supercharged? Then both would look in keeping with Range Rover prestige and status.
