Insurance time again

Hi all, have anyone insured their car through Saga, & if so what are their experiences. It's insurance renewal time again& my quotes for a 2019 HST vary from £290 with Swinton to over £4450. These are on Go Compare website. I've tried A Plan but they weren't very competitive. Saga are quoting £394 which sounds good cover. Before committing I'd like to know member's experience with Saga.
kind regards to all

Following the usual price hike , I shopped round and ended up with Saga.
Other than cover that I wanted and considerably cheaper than my renewal, all they have done for me is take my money so I can't really comment on how good they are should I actually need them which I guess is your enquiry.

I spoke with the AA directly and they were brilliant with me and my 2012 L320 5 litre. Never insured with them before but very competitive and tailored my requirements (loan car what ever happens, not just in body shop, etc) There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

That's interesting as mines up for renewal in a couple of months and was thinking about going back to NFU. Strong word of advice is please don't go to Adrian Flux, customer service is terrible and all they want is your money and as much of it as they can get.

Adrian Flux are brokers so they put their cut on top. Mrs Oldandconfused had a Peugeot Expert caged out for her dogs and was with AF. Come renewal time the premium had gone up considerably so after a search found insurance cheaper, I think from the same insurance company. When I rang AF to tell them, they asked why I wasn't renewing with them and when I told them I'd found it cheaper they kindly offered to match the renewal. I told them if they couldn't offer their best price first off, they could forget my business.

My vote is for NFU. Not necessarily the cheapest but usually competitive. My 3 claims (2 no faults!) experiences over 5 years have been excellent. Always been permitted to use LandRover approved repairer - essential in my view so as to have original parts fitted and from a resale point of view.

I have just moved to LV. A very competitive quote compared to most other places (Churchill was very slightly cheaper) and LV seem to get good reviews for their claimns handling.

Whilst a pain the excess increases by £200 if I use my own repairer, but decided ths was better than technically being stuck with a repairer who is not LR approved and/or a "production line" repair shop. MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)

Just bought a new RRS HST P400.
Just nearly tripled my insurance premium.

£600 for my X5 M50d: £1580 for the RRS.......

Ended up with a company called “Go Girl”! , next cheapest was “Insure 2 Drive”, then Admiral “little box”. The first 2 are owned by Sabre, who wanted over £2k in their own name.

Tried A Plan, they seemed nice people, but unfortunately they couldn’t get close. current: RRS HST P400 engine ( 2021) Hakuba silver
