Update : Remap or not to remap? Alive stage 1 DONE!!!

Hi guys what are your experiences with remapping on a 2010 3.0 tdv6 RRS.?
Looking at a sensible map to help alittle with torque and mpg?

Anyone recommend someone in the east Midlands?

TIA

Had my 2012 SDV6 sport remapped by Alive tuning. Didn't have mine done for power or torque issues, mine had the know issue of power delay trying to pull away from junctions.
Once done it was like a different car, massive increase in power and torque and all the issues with throttle response was cured.
Well worth every penny as I was at the point of selling it if it did sort out the issues out.

Can't recommend having it done enough after the way it changed how my car drives. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior
2012 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography santorini black with ebony/cirrus interior. Gone

Thanks guys. Have contacted Alive just waiting in a response..

Smarttech - I'd say the same really. Just getting that slight delay when at junctions. Trying to get it smoothed out. Hopefully they'll be in touch soon with some pricing as I'm not sure what it'll cost.

Will keep you updated Thumbs Up

How much was this? Mine had a £100 remap that the previous owner had done, I’m not convinced on how good it is, still feels pretty sluggish when pulling off.

A £100 remap won’t be much good,I’m sure the likes of alive who know their stuff will be £400-£500 which is the norm for a good map. Andy.

+1 for Alive. Sdv6 2012 3.0, done 4 years and 60k miles ago. Made it the car it should always have been.

So I drove way up to Louth to visit the guys at Alive.
Was it worth the drive and price? Of course it was.

Never had any of my previous cars mapped and now thinking why I didn't.
Dealt with Stewart today and it was simple and very informative..
He asked what I wanted from it and my main reason was to have that little bit more power to get off at junctions and maybe a little cheeky race now and again.. Just kidding. I just want the delivery to be smoother insteas of having that surge and jump at acceleration..
He agreed the 3.0 tdv6 did have this common thing of not having enough in the power gears and power speeds.

So he took the car for a test drive to make sure all was well and how its supposed to be, came back and started work on it whilst I switched on Netflix in the waiting room.

Took about 3 hours in total including the test drive after.

Must say it's the basic upgrade you should he doing.

Has made the world of difference. All throughout the rev range there's torque and picks up without hesitation especially in sport mode where it really did blow me away.

The dyno run would have cost me extra and I didn't really have the time for it but steward quoted an increase in 50bhp and around 100nm of torque which I believe as its just transformed the car.

Super knowledge guys very highly recommended.

Ben from the garage was super helpful in regards to the SATNav update.
Wanted to ask anyone here if they have an up to date USB to upgrade my sat nav as its running a very old version..

Thanks for the recommendations guys.

Also carried out some lighting upgrades at home and tyres changed from 275 40 20 to Scorpian pirelli verde all season in 275 45 20. Will Post up separately.

Thumbs Up

If your car is a MY10/11 you can not update the sat nav with a memory stick, it is a dealer only update or it certainly was.

Cheers

It was 475. Dyno would have been an additional 78 from what I can remember.
I remember checking other places that were cheaper but tbh I needed someone who has the knowledge to map it in the best way and not overkill with just power like like many places.

Really makes the car what it should have been. Should be first on the list for any RR owner.
