Never really understood why you cann't use a phone on the forecourt. So many petrol stations have phone masts hippen near the pumps anyway. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Excuse me for coming back to the topic but ......

Have to final spec my TDv8 on Monday so spent an hour at the dealer today. I still think Rimini / Ebony works the best - so thats a dead cert. Cherry Wood interior still looks better than Rhodium to me (although I know I am in a small minority there). Apparently there is a new interior trim, but the dealer hasn't any clue what it looks like - anyone seen it or know anything ?

The TDv8 HSE then comes with most things as standard, the only realistic options are :

Hybrid TV - so what is that then and what does it do Question Its "only" £500, but if for that all I get is a tiny telly picture when the car isn't moving - what on earth is the point ?

Rear "E" differential - can anyone recommend that and does it serve any "on road" purpose Question Again, not a huge cost option so if it improves on road drive then I might well take it.

The other 2 that I gave brief thought to was a sunroof (often had them in the past but never used them at all - so probably wont bother) and tyre pressure guage (ok I guess - but is it really worth the money ?). RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

I think the tyre monitoring system is only useful if you will be towing heavy loads... this same system on other marques has often been problematic..

hybrid tv allow you to watch analogue or digital tv - i assume when the car is stationary - although i'm sure it will be easy to bypass this safety system.. RRS TDV8 HSE - Hybrid TV - Sunroof - Adaptive Front Headlights - Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 system

Expiredata is probably right - bypasses are available for the FFRR and so I would presume for the RRS. TV yes, Sunroof yes, tyre monitoring no!

I've ordered a sunroof with mine, I will use it on the odd occasion, but the main reason I have ordered it is because of the light it lets in to the cabin..Might be worth thinking about...if you have had other cars with a sun roof, you might not have used it, but also not noticed how mich light it lets in.

The interior is so much better from the light it gets through the sunroof especially with the dark glass fitted Wink TDV6 - gone

I was anti sunroof (who needs it with aircon) but it was the trade off I made with my wife in exchange for getting to choose the colour. Now, I'm very pleased - for the reason Josh mentions - with the dark interior and privacy glass, the extra light from the sunroof makes it seem larger. Having had several convertibles and a couple of targas - I admit I also like to open the sunroof when driving on a clear night.

I never have problems with tyre pressure, so I'd be hesitant to see the value in a monitoring system. If I plan to tow something or haul more cargo than usual (vacations...) I then adjust the tyre pressure to the recommended settings. 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge

Sunroof, yes... I miss this. Aircon or not, I think a sunroof provides much better ventilation than having the windows down. Hadn't occurred to me about the extra light, but I suppose that's the case.

Had TV in the M3... no point in it other than to use it when you're sitting there waiting for Mrs S to come out of a shop. Enough time to fit in the omnibus edition of Eastenders Wink

Powered tailgate: I'm assuming this will be what BMW call "comfort close" - you close the hatch so far before a set of motors take over and close it completely. Given you have to slam the damn thing to close it otherwise, I can imagine this being very useful.

Tyre pressure monitor... well, it's there as a safety feature. Quite how useful it is is debatable... I've had it on cars before and it's never needed to kick in.

My tailgate has a bubble maker option fitted, I bet no ones got that on theirs!

Love my sunroof, my interior is black with rhodium and it lets alot of light into the cabin, and on a night the dash lights reflect on the glass, it's really pretty. And of course the seats twinkle like stars. Very Happy
