Range Rover Sport L494 SVR 295 x 40 x 22 Tyres

Hi all

Conscious that 2020 will be the year I need to replace some tyres on my SVR alloys. I have Continentals on right now and they have a fantastic overhang of the alloy/rim protector. What are SVR owners running as an alternative to Contis?

They are looking like £270 a corner so just wanted to assess my options so I know what Im doing when one is worn out (or blows!)

Cheers in advance

You don’t have much choice if your after 295/40r22 as their is only continental & Goodyear that make top end tyres that size, the Goodyear’s are cheaper but I’m not sure wether they have the rim protection that the countis have.Good year must have only brought them out this size recently as they weren’t available last week,I’m going to order one from my suppliers tomorrow & see if they have the protection like the contis as I’m ready for a new set on mine as I’m running this size. Andy.

The other recommended tire size alternative is 285/40/22 which does have some all season options.

So on my recent SVR I have continental cross contact lx sport 285/40 22s
Wondering why I have been given 285 rather than 295 ?

Also seem to hear more tyre road noise compared to 275 awb tyres N

Continental don't do the CrossContact LX Sport in 295/40/r22, according to their website.

https://www.continental-tyres.co.uk/car/ty...t-lx-sport 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

295 size is an option at order, they are the performance tire. 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE

I’m going back to 275’s when mine are due probably a few 000 miles left on them as the 295 ContiSportContacts are very noisy & I’ll probably go for AS tyres but must have rim protectors as I don’t want my alloys marking.
In fact I’ll probably call in to Hatfields at Pickering next week as we are at cropton for the new year & see what sizes have them by looking at the cars they have in stock Andy.
