1 With the standard exhaust it shouldn’t be a problem (I took the middle box & resonator out of mine & woke the neighbours up at 7.20 every morning)

When I park in the supermarket car park I either park in the child & parent parking spaces which are wider or park as far from the entrance as possible as no one likes walking any more.i would sooner walk a little further rather than having to have a door painted. Andy.

I don't like parking in the P&C bays as child seats are way to bulky and bays way too narrow these days so leave them for their intended users. but I think the latter option is the winner just park away from everybody else. |

Park at the far end of the car park and someone will still come and park next to you. I reckon they do it just to annoy the "park out of the way" types... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I park so far away in a Supermarket car park that my frozen stuff has defrosted by the time I get back to the car However no matter how far I am away from the nearest car, when I return some is parked right next to me. These Range Rovers must have a magnetic field that attracts other cars |

I have run a 5.0S for the last two years and 60,000 miles.. the reason I bought this over an SVR was for the exact same reason.. I wanted it to blend in with the crowd and not show out...

Well that's exactly it, I don't want every chav in a 2007 corsa trying to race me off the lights constantly. I'd rather him not lose it off the line and smash into my nearly 6 figure car. the softer suspension also is a big hit for me especially as the roads in the UK are like the surface of the moon in places. If its a decent car (it is a bit of a lottery with JLR), I intend to keep it till i kill it so i'm not as worried about depreciation. Although the availability of approved AB 5.0 is somewhat limited.

On the issue of noise and start up, neighbours etc I can only comment from having the 5.0 SC in my MY2013 L320. Its really quite quiet on start up. You know its not a small diesel and is a V8 but its not disruptively loud. There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

If you are worried about the Corsa brigade trying to burn you up then you could remove the Supercharged badge from the tailgate , it’s only suck on with double side heavy duty tape, then they won’t know if it is a 2.0ltr diesel version or anSDV6 let alone an S/C version unless they get so close that they can read the tiny print on the P525hp badge under the Autobiograghy badge! TBH I wouldn’t bother about them, ignore them and don’t reduce your driving standards to their stupid inexperienced driving habits, you know that even an SDv6 HSE could blow them well and truly into the weeds and then drive over them....... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You are right about the attention the SVR gets, it's not for the shy types. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black. |

People say the L405 and the L322 were wafting cars, the seats might not be any more comfy but the calibration of the airsuspension is softer so they ride softer and smother every bump and pothole silently but they do roll much more. L405 doesn’t have a Dyrnamic setting in the TR settings either as far as I know. One thing I found with both the L322’ FFRRs I owned was the drivers seat was wide and flat and slippery - discouraging any sort of spirited driving!

I have no scientific proof of this but I feel that because of the height of a RRS you tend to get in or out of it with your body more upright than if you were in a standard saloon/estate car. And of course side steps help. So I feel that the door does not need to open as much for you. Of course this doesn't stop the lunatic with an empty car park still parking right next to you and then marking your car with their door. Like Tyrefitter, given the choice I'll park away from the crowd and walk a bit further but it is surprising to see how little you need to open the door to get in or out. I'm talking about my L320 but I assume the doors are of similar size Robin 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Gone: Jaguar S-Type V8 4.2 Sport MGZTT 190 2.5 |
