Wipers don't match to VIN??

I want to renew the front and rear wipers on my 2014 AB, all the sites and on here suggest the front ones should be Bosch Aero Twin floppy types, however my car has old style hook arms and normal wiper blades, albeit with a plastic cover over the back to make them look less crap.

I would prefer floppy ones, even my 2008 Discovery has floppy types, so why has a car that is 6 years newer gone backwards in technology?

How incredibly frustrating that even with the right VIN information and using sites like Advanced Factors, what SHOULD be on the car are not what is fitted!

This seems to happen a lot with Land Rovers I have noticed over decades of use. L319 D4 HSE

Nothing wrong with your wiper blades/arms.
For the L494 up to 2016 it had the older style wiper arms and then it changed to a newer design.

But anyway, I’m in my 3rd L494 and I have driven more than 130.000 mls with the older wiper design amd now around 40.000 mls with the newer ones and there is no positive difference to the „dated“ older design.
Both worked fine and after 15.000 mls they need a swap...

Thanks All,

I ended up buying the exact same as was on the car, as at least I know they will fit.

I still don't understand the JLR logic though, why fit old style blades when flat blades are so much quieter and have been used for donkeys years? Bizarre. L319 D4 HSE
