So I went out to my car this morning having used the remote climate to warm it through, it was pretty cold and frosty when I finished work so thought warming it and defrosting would be just the ticket.

One of the things it might have been is that the battery voltage was to low, can’t remember the exact figure but it has to be above a certain value to allow the heater to run, |

Orange light on the plipper first means the fob battery is low. Change the battery and try again. Type 1/3N battery. Bodsys Brake Bible

I agree with the above. Probably battery voltage low due to the cold. It used to happen all the time on my old battery. Since I've put my new battery on, it fires up every time without fail.
