2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Tailgate rust

Hi all,
New to a RRS 2007 HSE and I've noticed it has a bit of rust bubbling on the main tailgate section, noticable when you lift the upper glass section. It's noticable by the two spot weld points either side of the opening.

Is this common? Is there a way to stop/slow it down or should I be thinking about replacing the tailgate at somepoint, maybe with a face lift one?

That's interesting, Andy and being new to them I wasn't sure about that. I'll try and post some pics for further advice.

2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Bonnet is aluminium, not sure the tailgate is. Happy to proved wrong, however. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
