funny noise

Hi all i have a 2012 3.0 rrs and ive noticed when i park up theres a funny noise coming from the passengers side in the front, ive checked in the engine compartment but no luck , it makes the noise like a fan but it only happens when i switch off the engine and it runs for a minute or two then off, has anyone had this happen to them. Thanks.

Turbos winding down/cooling off?
Would the FBH not also have an exhaust plume from the outlet? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I'd go with it being the FBH (fuel burning heater). With the arrival of cold weather, we usually get people asking such things. Thumbs Up

As Tim suggests, there is sometimes a visible plume of exhaust from the FBH when its cold or when first run up after sitting unused during the summer. The plume comes from the FBH exhaust which runs down in to the bottom of the NS/F wheel well. Mine doesn't normally create a plume unless very cold outside, but there is a paraffin-type smell that gives away when it is running. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
