Anyone experienced the rear window tint film rippling? My MY09 TDV8 rear windows have rippled / wrinkled on both sides. I've recently added window deflectors all around (clipped in ones) but can't understand how / why that may have effected the rear film. Anyone else had this and any solutions out there?

Clear glass then has film added to it.

I would be wearing this face if I believed the factory privacy glass was sticky back plastic and not treated glass.

It is a film on clear glass, which if you were here I could prove, as, I closed my tailgate with a piece of furniture sticking out too far, and it tore a small strip of window film off.

I'd rather just take your word for it and wear this face but I remain deeply sceptical of it being a film for now because of the markings on the glass.

It is tinted glass, a film would indicate aftermarket. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled 2022 HSE Dynamic P400e 2017 Discovery 3.0 HSE Silicon Silver Nimbus interior and a few extra toys SOLD 2013 HSE Black, Orkney Grey, Ebony Seats and Ivory Interior SOLD 2006 HSE Plus a few other cars inbetween! |

Dave B & Viper61, I would be interested to know if your rear screen has got a capital V on the left hand side of the logo or not (to the left of the E1 in a circle). I am thinking that if not then maybe your rear screen was replaced in the past with regular toughened and then tinted up to match the rest of the car. (not sure if you have owned this from new or not and therefore if you know its history). L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

That make most sense, can't imagine for one minute it came from factory with privacy glass to side and clear to rear, mine is certainly coloured glass not a film. As its very easy to change the upper part of the rear tailgate I think I personally would see if I could get a second hand one with factory glass at a sensible price just check that the heated screen part works, probably wouldn't cost much more then having the film replaced and a more permanent job, but only a suggestion. Thanks for all the replies guys, pretty sure mine is film as there are a couple of small marks where something has caught the window.

The V means the glass has been manufactured to let through less than 70% light, I.e. manufactured as tinted. How they achieve the tint I suppose is up to the manufacturer, and if you (Dave B) have the V symbol AND there is evidence of film, then that must be how they achieved the V rating, I guess.
