Range Rover Sport 2012 Brake pipe front to rear replacement.

As stated above ,its been through a full service then the MOT and its failed on Brake pipe excessively corroded Offside (Front to rear up to brake hose, at the clips) [1.1.11(C)]

Problem is getting someone to fix this, as my local garage cannot do it! said it cannot be cut out and jointed. Shocked
He also said its a Censored of a job so might as well get the other side renewed at the same time! in case for next years MOT

Anyone suggest someplace local or near to KY1 4BN Glenrothes fife for a fix. Noted in the past forums that Disco_Mikey might be helpful on this one! but being new I cannot PM him direct.

Any idea on prices , as I've no idea on costs

Any help will be greatly appreciated

If your booked in for an MOT and on your way to the garage then your insurance is valid, not sure if your tax has run out if your still covered, but i thought you would be as you cant get tax without mot, if there is any garage owners out there that know the rules atm, or any traffic coppers who could clarify the rules.

Also savings on repairs if going up there will pay for some nice days out and hotels. Should of checked your profile you are based in scotland 007 ?

Hey Disco_Mikey, it's a shame you're all the way up in Scotland!

I've just found a local Indy place who will do it all including a full major service for less than 800.

Looks like I'll be off to pick my car up and give the dealership a nice hand gesture 👍🏻

Just had my rear pipes replaced at Rovertune in Reading. A competitive price for down south too. Must say 800 inc B service sounds a lot.

Good luck!

Out of interest, how much did Rovertune charge for the brake pipe job?

Cheers,

TC.

Update on both brake pipe replacements front to rear ,completed by RCA Garage Services in Stoneyburn EH478BS for the decent price of £200 inc vat, as stated to myself over the phone with no added extras appearing once paying the bill, very professional and polite service. Thumbs Up

how they did the full front to rear replacement for that price i dont know.
i suspect they didnt dothefullpipereplacement
body off labour hours alone they would charge more

there is a half pipe available from JLR to do the rear pipe fix for corrosion.
it joins into the existing pipework half way under the body.
i did it on my old 2007 and was a perfect job.
pipes are about €30 each side.
i didnt want the copper piping, 2007 TDV6 RRS HSE..now gone
