It is a bit tricky. Take a look at this video on YouTube and skip to 3:35

Thats exactly what they do around 3:35 - remove the glass from the clip. Kev

Yes, an extra set of hands to pull the glass upwards will be an advantage. I found it difficult the first time I did it.

When you actually see how it works you can’t believe it’s so simple...
The white plastic clip is simply a spring loaded clip... the button which clips into the hole in the window pane needs to be released from the door skin side not the door card side...

The way I did it was put the window half way up... then remove the rubber trim from the bottom of the window... this just prises up and out... don’t know what it’s like on the RRS but on the Discovery there are tiny nuts which need releasing at the front end of that strip.. the nut can be found when you open the door and it can be seen on the front leading edge...

Once you’ve removed that strip you can see down inside the door and you can see the white plastic clip holding the window in place.. I slid a long white ruler or a sliver of plastic down between the glass and the clip which opens up and releases the button holding the glass...
I taped the glass in place and then just powered the window down again which released the window from the lever arm...

When you see how simple it is you’ll kick yourself! Fear not I was in exactly the same position as you trying to release it from the door card side and couldn’t fathom it out... hands were cut to pieces!

Good luck.... little advice when you are taking it apart take lots of photos on your phone especially the door lock cable fitment and cable /door handle to show it it fits back!

Thank you for the advice, that sounds an easier method, if indeed the range rover sport window is the same, I'll have a look in the morning. Again I must thank you Farmer for your help and time. Cheers 😊

I actualy managed to do a Sport o/s rear one without removing the glass from the motor, just undid the motor assy. dropped it all down and pushed to one side. Not sure if you can do same with front though.

Cheers
