Hi guys,
I have recently had to add coolant to my rrs 2010 tdv6 3.0ltr,
I now have a hot drivers cab vent and a cold / little warm passenger vent,
I have tried running the car now for a few days and regularly taking expansion cap off.
Fluid level has not moved although getting that faint odour of hot coolant gas, prob as the pressure is released from the exp tank.
Any tips. I have notice some form of screw in the top of the exp tank, what’s this for. Honestly I’m a novice so any help or guidance would be appreciated.

The screw on the expansion bottle is a bleed screw used for filling the system.

The coolant bottle is an expansion bottle. The hot coolant expands and will create pressure. This is what you hear when you take the cap off (WHICH YOU SHOULD NEVER DO WHEN HOT).

As for the cabin temp being different on each side, probably due to the temp sensor being full of fluff and needs a clean. Joe

Thanks I’ll have a look at the temp sensor, really weird as I have now done 500miles and zero fluid loss. It’s just the difference in driver and passenger cabin vents now
