Looking to Buy a RRS

Hello

i have seen a RRS 2015 autobiography fully loaded with all the features i require with 42,000 miles

what should i be checking when i am looking at it

and what would need doing in the next few 1000 miles or so should i buy it

its not from a land rover dealer but i am told all the services have been main dealer

firstly, get the VIN and use that get the full service history from a dealer.

only when you're satisfied that all services/recalls have been done should you proceed. --

you can check the build specs on the Topix website, but not sure about the service history. --

Hi,
not every one will be happy giving out their VIN Whistle
But
the garage or owner can put their VIN in to then take an image of the screen to show you, when was the last one
(I have got a printed copy of it and a photo Whistle )

ensure done at correct miles or time which ever came first, check the spec is it "really" an AB or just badges, check tyres and what spare it has at that miles should be on second set but still have plenty of tread left.

dealer has sent me the vin and i have had a look on both the rnage rover service and topix and can see that it has had last 3 services at main dealers

it is an AB with all of the factory option listed on the build sheet

does need an mot but they have said they will do that

i keep seeing posts about timing belts and major issues do i need to ask them if any of these items have been replaced or looked at

Belts are due at the 7 year service (or the equivalent mileage), so a 2015 with 42k miles doesn't need the belts doing yet.

As for other issues, forums are full of people complaining about issues. Some are more common (DPF regens),, some are scary but actually reasonably rare (crank shaft issues). If you're buying from a garage, you have a fair bit of protection. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

If it was me, then I would buy from a main Dealer and get JLR Extended Warranty. Also get a document in writing stating that ANY crankshaft related issues would be Fully covered by the Dealer In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

I'd go the other way. I'd steer clear of LR dealerships altogether and buy the best aftermarket warranty you can - the difference in price between main dealer and others is possibly enough to pay for a decent warranty anyway.

I doubt you'll get a LR dealership to say they'll cover the crank, to be honest. They're not going to give you a blank cheque for potentially £15k+. They'll probably just say the warranty is comprehensive or something. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Hi,
should it not have had 4 services or due very soon Question early 2015 is well Over due, late 2015 due is now

I would not go main dealer either at that age as its out of Manufactures warranty and the Approved warranty is an insurance policy operated by CarCare not landrover Shocked (well it was when 2 years cover now its only 1 year as well)
